My recent absence

I'm very frustrated right now. Blogger isn't working on this computer (I'm in blogger in draft right now, which is okay, I guess.) I was trying to delete a blog from my feed; couldn't figure it out, so I tried switching back to the old layout. Then it just got caught up in this endless loop of "redirecting; connecting; redirecting; connecting" ad infinitum or browser-crash-um. I was ready to do a whole post about our homemade wrapping paper, but instead I spent my time clearing the cache, cookies, history, and doing a clean install of firefox. I can get it to work on any other computer on any browser, but this computer running firefox will not let me access my normal account.

My Mario/Lobster wrapping paper.
On top of that, I'm having issues getting my transcripts sent correctly. Apparently I sent them without the required cover sheet, so they're making me resend them, and now UCD is being stupid about authorizing them. For some reason, I can no longer fax my release. I have to send it snail mail. Now, nobody told me that. Rather, I faxed it twice after they told me they hadn't received anything. Then I looked through the registrar's page, and buried in a mound of bullet points was the minor detail that won't accept faxed forms. What's strange is that last time I requested a transcript, they let me fax the release and it went through just fine. But that one didn't have the right attachment. Boo.

And the cherry on top of all this crap is that a cafe served me a ceramic shard sandwich. I nearly chipped a tooth.

One of my knitting needles also snapped right in half.
So please excuse me if I don't have any interesting posts for a while. My life is currently filled with FAIL.

  1. I feel for you girl! I've had a bit of a fail time myself the past little while [mixed in with some awesomeness too of course, but man oh man, a whole lot of fail.]

College is full of so much bs - how can every university really have such a knack for hiding the important details, neglecting to mention them at all, or printing them incorrectly [like the last date for my final listed as tomorrow on the syllabus, but was apparently yesterday sending my A plummeting down to a C.] Grr.

Your wrapping paper looks amazing - like so amazing it made my whole night :)

Hope your week gets better! The nice thing about having a rough patch is everything afterwards seems great in comparison!

  2. Caroline, you have idea how much better I felt after reading your comment last night! It's a nice feeling when you bitch and moan and someone is right there to commiserate with you :) That's awful about your final. So unfair, I hope they let you make it up! Here's to hopefully ending this week on a high note!

  3. I HATE the transcript policies at Davis. I actually have to get my undergrad transcripts sent from there to the Colorado Department of Ed to get my official teaching license and am dreading it because of all the problems I had having them sent to PhD programs. Enormous nightmare. They are 100 times less difficult to obtain from any other school I've ever attended. You'd think the UC system would have something more streamlined by now. Good On a positive note, I like the last photo on this post. It's pretty :)

  4. Oh, I'm happy to hear I'm not the only one with transcript issues. Well, maybe happy is not the best word. Good luck with your transcript dealings--hopefully this is last time for you!
