I'm starting a new blog to go along with my Etsy shop! Here I hope to record my current projects, finished designs, inspirations, admiration for other Etsy sellers, and random crafting ideas.
Now, since this is the busiest season of the year, updates may be slow at first, but hopefully by the beginning of next year it will take off.
My current creative obsession is button-close headbands/earwarmers with animal embellishments. So far I have created 3 such headbands (and sold 1 to my lovely cousin). I have 1 owlet (sold), 1 penguin, and 1 fox. A polar bear is in the works!
Speaking of polar bear, I'm in LOVE with this Urban Outfitters polar bear sweater. I came across it looking for reference photos. Ideally I would make one for myself, but I've too many ideas and too little time!
I'm also in the midst of creating some convertible mitts for a good friend. I'm not quite sure why, but it's been miserable making them! I think it's the combination of working from someone else's pattern (I like to design my own or figure things out visually) and knitting in the round that I despise so much. I really have difficulty deciphering written instructions--whenever I'm learning how to play a new board game, I'm baffled by the directions; I have to play to know what's going on.
One thing I'm cravvving is a new sewing machine. I appreciate the quaintness of handstitching, but for seams that are never seen, a sewing machine is somewhat of a necessity. I've had my eye on this one for almost a year. I've already worn out my "learner's" sewing machine--it was flannel fabric that caused its demise--and now I'm ready for a big girl machine! If only my bank account were as ready as me...
That's all for now! I will try to update soon.
